One in a series of articles on data symmetry and its impacts. I would argue that true data symmetry remains a way off as its not simply a case of us all having access to a single data set. While we may all have access to more data it is far from easy to identify it all and then to get it, to link it and start to manipulate it. Thus still a real chance for smart data thinkers to make a difference (even while the suggestions in the article can ALSO be used as differentiators)
Once insurers are operating from the same data, and the prediction of symmetrically available data has become a full-blown reality, then data will no longer be a differentiator, and something else will be. But what? The good news is that there will always be a way to create advantage if insurers remain active in fostering their uniqueness.
