Much of the focus in Insurtech over the last few years has been on companies that are starting from scratch and bringing new technology to aquire and measure data. Other than the occasional hint that Google or Amazon maybe starting to take insurance seriously, there is surprisingly little attention being paid to companies that are driving innovation outside of insurance but which have the potential to make a big impact with their findings in the existing insurance market. I came across SafetyCulture earlier this year and recently spoke to CEO Luke Anear. I was impressed by how successful they have been in rolling out their audit and inspection tools - and intrigued by how this could impact insurance.
